The class is working on a whole class novel study on the novel Who Is Frances Rain? I am reading aloud while students follow along in their own copies. There are questions for each chapter that I give students a chance to do after I finish reading aloud a chapter. The novels and the question sheets stay in class so that they don't get misplaced :)
Who Is Frances Rain? is available online through Kurzweil. Students are able to use this to catch up or reread on their own if they miss class. Students also usually have a chance to catch up on previous chapters during silent reading at the beginning of class.
will try to start updating what chapter we are on. We finished to the end of Chapter 11 today.
Directions and link are also available under the Helpful Links tab, but here they are:
1) Go to https://www.kurzweil3000.com/KLogin.php
2) Use hernewood1 for both the login and password.
3) Select the folder "PEI School System."
4) Select the subfolder "public."
5) Select the subfolder "grade 7 8 and 9 novels."
6) Select the subfolder "who is frances rain." The chapters will appear on the right hand side. They are grouped together (ex: 1-3, 4-7...). You can read it as is, or Kurzweil will read aloud for you.
